Just As You Are

Just As You Are
by Kathy Parmele, MD

Seek gentle ease in the understanding company of a compassionate beloved

For you are always growing and blossoming

yet at your own pace

Just as a tulip opens its petals towards the warming sun

Just as the maple tree bursts forth new spring life from its buds

Just as the cormorant dives deep and suddenly emerges from the foam

So you have your own ebbs and flows

Of quiet contemplation, wild activity and growth

Just as the crocus is hasty to burst forth in glorious color

even as the snow falls fast

Just as the crape myrtle hides its flowers

until the days are long and hot and full of dust

So your growth and evolution is your own

It just is

It is not right or wrong
