Even as recently as a few years ago I used to think that meditation was something that only Buddhist hippie, new-age, homeopathic-lovin', science-hating fringe-types did as a big f-u to the rest of "normal" people. I was mistakenly under the impression this had nothing to do with me and my life. I thought, "I believe in the scientific method, I am religious and have a personal relationship with God." I didn't think that this meditation stuff had any merit. That was for others. Then I started doing research and came up with some surprising science-based findings related to meditation and mindfulness. Then I started practicing. This was the turning point for me in my own quest towards resilience.
